Passing Confirmation & Disputes
What Happens If I Don't Respond?
If a passing dispute is opened and you do not verify that you are still alive, Aftir will continue the dispute process for up to 30 days.
During that time, all after-passing releases remain paused while Aftir waits for a response.
Multiple Opportunities to Respond
Throughout the 30-day dispute period, Aftir sends up to four verification emails asking you to confirm that you are still alive.
In addition, simply logging in to your Aftir account during the dispute period also confirms that you are still active.
These safeguards are designed to give you multiple opportunities to respond before any further action is taken.
If No Response Is Received
If all of the following are true:
* You do not click the verification link.
* You do not log in to your Aftir account.
* The full 30-day dispute period expires.
The dispute will automatically be resolved.
Your account will then proceed according to the passing confirmation process, and any after-passing messages, video releases, and other legacy content that had been paused will once again become eligible for release according to your settings.
Why Does Aftir Wait 30 Days?
The 30-day dispute period provides time for vacations, illnesses, travel, email delivery issues, or other situations that could prevent you from responding immediately.
Rather than making an immediate decision, Aftir gives account owners multiple opportunities to verify that they are still alive before the dispute expires.
Can I Respond After the Dispute Ends?
If your dispute has already expired and you are still alive, contact Aftir support immediately.
We can review the situation and, if appropriate, restore your account through our administrative review process.
