The 30-Day Waiting Period

To help protect your future releases and legacy plans, Aftir uses a 30-day waiting period after a Trusted Contact completes verification. This means that even after a contact accepts their role and becomes verified, they do not immediately gain authority within the system. Why a Waiting Period Exists The waiting period serves as an additional safeguard against mistakes, unauthorized changes, or fraudulent activity. It also gives you time to review your Trusted Contact selections and make adjustments if necessary. Authority Activation Once the waiting period has ended, a verified Trusted Contact becomes eligible to participate in confirmation requirements according to your settings. Depending on your chosen confirmation rule, one or more active Trusted Contacts may be required before future releases can proceed. How It Affects Future Releases The waiting period does not prevent you from creating future messages, video releases, or Time Capsules. However, future releases that depend on passing confirmation cannot proceed until the required number of Trusted Contacts have completed verification and their waiting periods have expired. This additional layer of protection helps ensure that your future plans are carried out safely and according to your wishes. Checking Contact Status The Trusted Contacts section of the My Legacy Builder displays the current status of each contact, including whether they are pending verification, within the waiting period, or fully active. Keeping your Trusted Contacts verified and up to date helps ensure your future releases can be delivered when the time comes.
