Search Engine Visibility
Search Engine Visibility
Public memorials may be discovered through search engines such as Google, Bing, and other search services.
While Aftir makes public memorials accessible to visitors, search engines independently decide whether and when to include pages in their search results.
Public Memorials
When a memorial is published and publicly visible:
* Visitors can access it using its direct link.
* Visitors can access it through shared links and QR codes.
* Search engines may discover and index the memorial.
* The memorial may appear in search results over time.
Not all public memorials will appear in search results, and search engine indexing timelines vary.
Private Memorials
Private memorials are not intended for public viewing.
When a memorial is private:
* Visitors cannot access the memorial.
* Search engines should not index the memorial.
* The memorial remains available to the memorial owner while signed in.
Changing Visibility
You can change a memorial's visibility at any time through Page Settings.
Publishing a memorial makes it available to visitors, while unpublishing a memorial returns it to private status.
Search Engine Updates
Search engines manage their own indexes and schedules. If a memorial's visibility changes, it may take time for search results to update accordingly.
