Time Capsules
How Time Capsules work
Time Capsules allow you to preserve memories, stories, objects, predictions, and personal experiences for future discovery.
Unlike the main sections of your My Legacy page, Time Capsules are designed to capture specific pieces of your life that can be revisited later by family, friends, or future generations.
Aftir offers several types of Time Capsules:
Standard Capsules
Store written memories, photos, videos, family stories, lessons learned, and other personal content you want preserved for the future.
Prediction Capsules
Record your thoughts about the future before events happen. You can make predictions about your family, technology, society, world events, or anything else you believe may happen. Future generations can later compare your predictions to what actually occurred.
Physical Capsules
Physical Capsules combine the digital and physical worlds. You create and hide or bury a real-world capsule containing meaningful objects, letters, photographs, keepsakes, or other items.
You can then create clues within Aftir that are released through your My Legacy page over time. Future generations can follow the clues you leave behind to locate and recover the capsule, creating a unique treasure hunt and discovery experience.
Favorites Capsules
Preserve the things that helped define who you were, including favorite books, movies, music, foods, places, hobbies, quotes, and personal interests. These details often provide future generations with a deeper understanding of your personality and everyday life.
Things We Used To Have Capsules
Document stores, products, traditions, technologies, local landmarks, businesses, and experiences that may disappear over time. These capsules help preserve what everyday life was like during your lifetime.
Release Options
Some Time Capsules can be viewed immediately, while others can remain private until a future date, a specific event, or after passing confirmation requirements have been met.
The goal of Time Capsules is simple: preserve pieces of your life today so they can be discovered, understood, and appreciated in the future.
