Memorial Pages
Publishing a Memorial
Every memorial on Aftir can be either published or unpublished.
Published Memorials
Published memorials can be viewed by others. They can be shared through links, QR codes, social media, funeral programs, and other methods.
Unpublished Memorials
Unpublished memorials remain private and are not visible to the public.
Some memorials are created to be a deeply personal place to preserve memories, stories, photographs, and moments that may never be intended for anyone else's eyes.
There is no requirement to publish a memorial.
You can use Aftir as a private space to remember someone, reflect on their life, and preserve memories that are meaningful only to you.
Keeping Some Memories Private
Sometimes we want both. There are a lot of moments to share with family and friends, but the memories we cherish most are the ones we are not ready to share.
You may have personal stories, private conversations, photographs, or experiences that were meaningful between you and the person being remembered but that you would prefer to keep private.
In these situations, some users choose to create two memorials:
• A private memorial containing personal memories, stories, and moments they wish to keep for themselves
• A public memorial containing the information, photographs, and stories they wish to share with others
This allows you to preserve every memory that matters while still controlling what is shared publicly.
Changing Visibility
You can publish or unpublish a memorial at any time through Page Settings in the memorial editor.
Whether a memorial is public or private, its purpose remains the same: preserving the story of someone who mattered.
