Standing 6-foot-6, Braxton starred at the University of Georgia before being selected seventh overall in the 2005 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock. Over a ten-year WNBA career, she played for the Detroit Shock, Tulsa Shock, Phoenix Mercury, and New York Liberty. She won two WNBA championships, earned All-Star honors, and became known for her toughness in the paint and fierce competitive spirit. Off the court, she was a devoted mother, wife, and inspiration to many young athletes.
