My Legacy
Writing Your Life Story
Most people leave behind dates, photographs, and a handful of stories remembered by others.
Very few leave behind their own voice.
Your Life Story section gives you the opportunity to tell future generations who you were, what mattered to you, what you experienced, and how you saw the world. Instead of relying on secondhand memories or historical records, your children, grandchildren, and future family members can hear your story directly from you.
This is not about writing a perfect autobiography.
It is about preserving the experiences, lessons, memories, and perspectives that made you who you are.
You might choose to write about:
* Your childhood and family background
* Important relationships and friendships
* Career experiences
* Military service
* Major life events
* Personal achievements
* Challenges you overcame
* Lessons you learned
* The values that guided your life
The details that seem ordinary to you today may become the stories future generations treasure most. Family traditions, favorite places, personal struggles, funny memories, and everyday experiences often reveal more about a person than major accomplishments ever could.
Don't worry about writing everything at once. Your story can grow over time. Add memories as they come to mind, update sections as your life continues, and revisit important moments whenever you wish.
One day, someone may visit your Legacy page who never had the chance to meet you personally. Through your words, they can learn not only what happened during your life, but who you were as a person.
That is the true purpose of your Life Story: preserving your voice, your perspective, and your story for the generations that follow.
